Are Hawaii state and local taxes included in the Hawaii Hideaways rental price?

Hawaii state and local taxes are not included in the initial base rate but are clearly itemized and quoted before any payment is collected. All luxury vacation rentals in Hawaii are subject to the following mandatory taxes:

General Excise Tax (GET): Approximately 4.5% to 4.712% (depending on the island).

Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT): Currently 10.25%.

County Transient Accommodations Tax (Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Big Island): An additional 3% local surcharge.

Total Tax Expectation: Guests should anticipate approximately 17.75% to 18.712% in total taxes added to the rental rate. Hawaii Hideaways ensures all taxes are handled in strict compliance with state and county laws, and these are reflected in your final booking agreement.
