Maui Luxury Vacation Rentals
Hawaii Hideaways offers luxury Maui vacation rentals — private beachfront and oceanfront villas and estates for families and small groups who want more space and privacy than a hotel. Homes range from classic beach houses to larger villas suited to about 8–16 guests, with destination experts who personally know the homes and help you pick the right town, dates, and services.
Whether you are planning a multigenerational family trip or a milestone celebration, our Maui inventory includes fully equipped kitchens, outdoor lanais, and homes sized for traveling together under one roof. Submit a booking request online or call 808-878-8559; a Hawaii Destination Expert will respond in less than 1 hour during business hours, and we can also research unlisted pocket listings that match your group.
>Who these homes are for
These Maui luxury vacation rentals are built for trips where a hotel suite is not enough:
- Multigenerational families who need bedrooms for grandparents, parents, and kids under one roof
- Friend and family groups of roughly 8–16
- Milestone trips: birthdays, anniversaries, and other celebrations that want a private lawn or lanai
- Travelers who want beachfront or oceanfront living with Complimentary Concierge Planning — we arrange recommendations and bookings; services you choose (such as grocery pre-stocking, housekeeping, or a private chef) are billed separately
If you already know your dates and headcount, inquire here and we will shortlist homes that fit.
Where to stay on Maui
Choosing a town matters as much as choosing a house.

Wailea & Makena (South Maui)
Quieter luxury, golf, and resort dining. Best for travelers who want a polished, walkable resort feel and calm beaches. Ideal if you are comparing a private villa with staying at Four Seasons Wailea or similar resorts — a villa gives you kitchens, living rooms, and shared living space those hotel rooms do not.

Kihei
More casual beach-town energy, strong value for beachfront living, and easy access to South Maui beaches. A strong pick for families who want sand close by without the full resort corridor.

Kaanapali
West Maui’s classic beach stretch: swimming, snorkeling near Black Rock, restaurants, and championship golf nearby. Better for families who want activity and dining options without giving up a private home. Our Kaanapali-area homes include options such as Golden Sands and Golden Glow.

Napili & nearby West Maui
Quieter coves, snorkeling, and sunset views. Good for families who want a residential beach feel and easy access to West Maui beaches and dining.

About Lahaina and West Maui
Much of historic Lahaina town was lost in the 2023 wildfires, and we no longer offer Lahaina-town homes as a stay recommendation. West Maui stays we still offer focus on Kaanapali and nearby communities; select hillside homes such as Panorama (Lahaina area, above town) may also fit depending on your dates. We will be clear about current access, dining, and what’s open when you inquire.
Not sure between South and West Maui? Tell us whether you prioritize calm resort beaches, snorkeling, golf, or shared living space for your family, and we will recommend a short list.

Frequently asked questions
- Are Maui vacation rentals legal?Maui ▾
Short-term rental rules on Maui have changed, including Bill 9 phase-outs for some residential rentals. Legal, permitted inventory matters. Hawaii Hideaways works with vetted luxury homes; ask us how a specific listing is permitted for your dates.
- Is a private villa better than a resort for a family on Maui?Maui ▾
For families and groups of about 8–16, a villa usually wins on privacy, kitchens, living space, and cost per person. Resorts win if you want daily housekeepers included and on-site kids clubs. Many of our guests want the villa for sleeping and gathering, then use resort restaurants and spas à la carte.
- How far ahead should we book a Maui villa for 8–16 guests?Maui ▾
For holidays, whale season peaks, and summer, plan 6–12 months out. Shoulder seasons (roughly April–May and September–November) can be more flexible.
- What is Complimentary Concierge Planning?Maui ▾
We help you plan recommendations and arrangements at no planning fee. The services themselves (chef, groceries, housekeeping, and similar) are paid separately when you book them.
- Do you only list what’s on the website?Maui ▾
No. We have additional pocket listings. Call 808-878-8559 or inquire with your dates, headcount, and preferred area. Travel agents are welcome to inquire as well.
- What is the best area of Maui for a beachfront house with kids and grandparents?Maui ▾
Often South Maui (Wailea / Kihei / Makena) for calmer water and easier resort amenities, or Kaanapali / Napili for West Maui beaches and snorkeling — we match the house to your ages and mobility needs and will note current West Maui conditions for your dates.
