Waimea Bay is an infamous destination in the winter months as the homecoming Pacific Ocean swells arrive. Annual competitions attract surfers from all over to experience Hawaii’s finest and largest winter surf seen throughout the world.
As the seasons change, the water conditions dramatically shift. The summer months allow the swimmers to enjoy the crystal clear water as it’s calm and considerably more inviting. Strong rip currents are still present in select areas, please review posts or speak with a lifeguard on duty for further details. Full facilities, picnic tables and areas make it a wonderful and entertaining lunch spot!
