Sandy Beach Park

Location: 8808 Kalanianaole Hwy, Honolulu, HI 96806

Sandy Beach Park is one of the several infamous beaches known for its roaring swells during the winter months. Water conditions are far from calm and extreme caution is to be taken at all times. A strong rip tide current is present at Kawaakio cove, just to the left of the point. This rip tide is present all year long. Avoid swimming near this area at all times. Hazadorous underwater conditions sweep the shore and shore break waves still carry the force of the foreseen offshore break. You will see various signs posted regularly along the shoreline of the unsafe and unstable conditions. Lifeguards, full facilities, picnic areas and parking are available during the day hours.

Sandy Beach Park is a paradiscal setting and definitely a true island destination. I would definitely recommend stopping and witnessing this powerful yet magnificent landmark, perfect photo backdrop!
