Hanauma Bay is one the best offshore snorkeling sites throughout the islands! It has won world recognition for its surplus marine life and superb conditions. A large outer reef protects the reserve from the possible high surf in the summer. This allows the daily explorers to experience the hundreds of marine life that consider Hanauma Bay its home. The reserve is strictly maintained and requires an educational video to be viewed prior to entering the natural reserve. In addition, an entry charge will apply per visitor. The path to the shoreline is a sheer but, pathed road. A shuttle service is available for a small fee each way. Once you reach the shoreline area, you will find concession stands, shops and locker rentals available. This beach does have seasonal operation hours and is closed every Tuesday. I recommend contacting a representative prior to planning your itinerary for updated operation hours and further suggestions.
