Things to Do
If you enjoy the game of golf, you’ll be quite comfortable here in Kahana as the Royal Kaanapali and Kaanapali Kai golf courses are both close-by providing ample opportunity to spend your days on the green. The Molokini Crater is located just off-shore and is considered one of the best diving spots in the world with more than 250 marine species making their homes here. Its crescent shape provides shelter from the waves leaving the water calm and crystal clear for viewing the depths below. In the early morning sunlight, you can see as far as 100 feet down. The incredible “Road to Hana” makes for a scenic day trip with more than 600 meandering curves and bridges which wind through waterfalls, rainforests, and include stunning views of the Pacific along the way. Head over to nearby Kanapali at sunset to watch the cliff diving ceremony at Puu Kekaa, or Black Rock. According to legend, Maui’s last chief, Kahekili leapt from the scared rock in a display of spiritual strength and the re-enactment pays tribute to this age old story. The Kapalua Food & Wine Festival is held in the area each June where sommeliers, wine makers and top chefs come together for the island’s popular culinary extravaganza. Guests staying at a Kahana luxury vacation rental property who enjoy the performing arts will love the Burn’n Love or Ulalena shows at the Maui Theater on Lahaina’s Front Street. While there, stop by Lahaina’s town square to see the magnificent Banyan Tree. Only 8 feet tall when first planted in 1873, the tree now towers at a height of 50 feet and is nearly a quarter of a mile around.
There are several beaches in the areas surrounding our Kahana vacation rentals with Ka’anapali Beach being the most popular. With a sandy bottom and calmer waters, this beach is also within walking distance of some great shops and restaurants. Napili Bay is close-by and is a popular spot for snorkeling. Baby Beach is considered the safest beach in the area, especially for inexperienced swimmers and those with small children as the area it’s protected by an off-shore reef. Once called the world’s best beach by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine, the beautiful beach at Kapalua Bay has a reef protected white sand beach with calm waters perfect for swimming and even better for snorkeling.
Restaurants and Nightlife

Front Street in nearby Lahaina has a quaint small town feel and is filled with galleries, restaurants and shops selling everything from art to souvenirs. Whaler’s Village is open-air shopping center located oceanside with some great stores and restaurants. The temperature doesn’t vary too much throughout the year with an average high of 78 F in January and 85 F in July.
