You’ve heard about it in past years and now it’s back! Celebrating its 13th year, the KAUA’I HAWAII HOMEGROWN MUSIC FESTIVAL takes place on November 8th, 9th and 10th at the Church of the Pacific Outdoor Amphitheater (Princeville).  Three days of music, 33 talented acts all for your listening pleasure.  Soak in the sounds; absorb the feel of the music as it resonates in the beauty of this astounding outdoor theater. Oh yes, it’s yours for the taking.

Each day brings new acts, new styles, new sounds.  PowerHound, Torture Town, Nahko & Medicine for the People, Paula Fuga and Mike Love, and the list goes on and on.  We could stop here, but oh no we won’t.  Some very exciting news, Hawaii local hero and songwriter John Cruz will be playing Homegrown on Saturday.  John is a pretty impressive guy! He co-wrote “A Case of Ice and Snow,” with Trey Anastasio of Phish fame. Trey released the song on his solo CD, Bar 17.  In addition, the 2007 Hawaii 5-0 soundtrack featured John’s rendition of “Hi’ilawe.” And let’s certainly not forget to mention this amazing news: Bill Kreutzmann from the Grateful Dead will be performing at Homegrown! WOW! He will be joined by Jim Winkler, Randy Carnevali and Ken Emerson. Yes, Ken is a Grammy Winner!!!

One exciting act after the other.  OK, so here are the details so you know when to go!

Friday, November 8th – 5pm-11pm.
Saturday, November 9th – 1pm-11pm
Sunday, November 10th – noon-11pm”Hi’ilawe” was released on the official Hawaii Five-O soundtrack One of These Days in 2007. It debuted firmly at #1 in Hawaii, #2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and #6 on the Billboard World Chart.

Attend one day, two days or all three, the choice is yours. Wristbands for all three days are offered at a discounted price. With all the great acts playing each day, just grab that wristband, sit back and enjoy.  To buy TICKETS ONLINE go to www.dovepresents.com.  And good news, if you are bringing your kids, you should know that kids 15 and under are free. All ages are welcome!  Here is the coolest part (other than the awesome music of course); a partial benefit from this concert will go to the North shore Food Bank, Church Of The Pacific and Kauai Community Radio.

So if you have plans with friends or family this weekend, hmmm, maybe you should cancel them, or better yet tell your friends and family about this spectacular event and go together!  Enjoy!
