In our two-part series on touring volcanoes in Hawaii (which you can find here and here), we gave you the lay of the molten land, so to speak. Now, we’d like to suggest what you can do after you’ve witnessed lava flows bubble to the surface and smoke billow into the sky.

Breaking news: Volcanoes are, well, hot. And there’s no better way to cool down after getting up-close-and-personal with them than with a fresh craft cocktail. That’s why you’ll want to go to Huggo’s.

The drink list here is as original as it is extensive. There’s Jungle Juice, a refreshing take on the classic daiquiri; the Lemon Grass Basil-jito, a potent blend of rum, lime, Thai basil, and lemongrass syrup; and the Pineapple Lychee-tini, a crisp blast of pineapple-infused vodka, lychee juice, and ginger liqueur.

But the granddaddy of them is all is the Huggos Big Bamboocha Mai Tai, a devilish mix of cane rum, pineapple juice topped with a Goslings dark rum float. Trust us when we say that one of these is all the drink you’ll need.

Of course, Huggo’s also offers a full menu, including small plates (try the ginger-steamed clams and the fresh island caught sashimi), as well as salads, pastas, and steaks. And after a long day of exploring Kilauea, the stunning ocean views provide a perfect end to your day.
