Barrio is a term you hear tossed around a lot in Southern California and certain areas of Texas. But in Hawaii? Not so much.
Still, Barrio Vintage is a clever name for a boutique, even one in Oahu, because it signifies the cross-cultural influence and comfortable feel of the clothes, jewelry, and accessories on offer here. Every barrio is unique – and so is every hand-selected item on the shelves.
In short: Barrio Vintage is a shop for people who want to standout.
Located in the Chinatown district – home to so many artists it’s hard to keep track –the store’s fall 2013 lookbook features pants, skirts, and button-downs with bold patterns and bright colors. Our favorite item: a blue-and-white varsity jacket (the must-have item every top designer is producing these days) emblazoned with a snarling tiger.
No, these ain’t grandma’s hand-me-downs.
