No visit to the island is complete without attending at least one event at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.  Special events and entertainment coming up this April and May include Jack Jackson, YES, George Lopez, plus the Harlem Globetrotters.  Maui Brewers Festival 2012 is being held on the events lawn, May 19.  Enjoy over 54 distinct craft beers poured by breweries from Hawai‘i and around the country.  16 Maui restaurants and caterers will serve up scrumptious pupus, and as always there will be plenty of rockin’ entertainment.

Thousands of visitors come every year for the Maui Film Festival.  This upcoming 13^th annual festival takes place June 13-17. The festival first began as a weekly screening series in 1997 and has grown to an annual event attended by many celebrities such as Dennis Quaid, Clint Eastwood, Olivia Wilde, Zac Efron and even the esteemed Dalai Lama. “With open-air and beachfront screenings, the festival ditches traditional Hollywood devices like black ties and red carpets for leis and flip flops…” Films, special events and entertainment are offered in one of the world’s most spectacular settings.  The 2012 festival is shaping up to be the best to date!

North Shore Oahu Wave

Hawaii Hideaways urges everyone to be safe when enjoying the ocean. Even small waves can pack quite a punch. One cubic foot of water weighs about 62 pounds. That means a cubic yard of water weighs about 1684 pounds. That’s almost one ton! Water isn’t solid, but it’s pretty heavy and can knock you around quite a bit. Be careful everyone!

On the island of Maui, there ill be a show that can bee seen from Wailea Beach. It will start at nidnight and will last about 20 minutes. So If you are in the area, check it out! Parking will be limited so be sure to show up early for parking!

On the island of Oahu, there are two options. You can enjoy a show at the Aloha Tower. They will also have some fun activities to take part in as well. The other optiion is to enjoy the show in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Right on the beach! Firework show starts at 12am and parking is free! The show will last about 20 minutes! We here at Hawaii Hideaways suggest you get there a bit early as parking will be limited.

On the island of Kauai, they will have a festival with food and entertainment. Open to the public! Parking is free so please get there early for parking. The firework show will start at 9:30pm on Poipu Beach. It will last about 20 minutes.

On the the Big Island of Hawaii there will not be any fire work show display this year.
